Other Provinces and International Students

Outside of British Columbia

If you are completing or have completed a degree from a Canadian university or college outside of British Columbia you have several options to attain your CMA designation:

  1. If you are residing in a province other than BC and do not plan on relocating to BC, please visit the CMA website in your specific province.  These can be found at www.cma-canada.org.
  2. If you have a commerce or business degree, detailed information on how to attain your CMA designation can be found under I am a Commerce/Business Student.
  3. If you have a degree in a non-business or commerce program, you can still pursue the Certified Management Accountant designation and may be eligible for advanced standing exemptions.  Detailed information can be found under I am a BC Non-Business Student.

International Student

If you reside in British Columbia and are completing or have completed a degree from a university or college outside of Canada you will need to have your transcripts evaluated for Canadian equivalency by the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES). Please call ICES at 1-866-434-9197 for more information. You may qualify for advanced standing in the CMA pathways for courses taken outside of Canada. 

Note:  If you are submitting your transcripts to our office or ICES, please also complete the CMA transcript evaluation form and submit it to the CMA office. Click here to download the form and contact details. This will allow us to contact you upon receiving your documentation.

If your university or college can issue official transcripts in English, we might also be able to accept these without an ICES report. Please contact our office for more details.

Upon receipt of your transcripts or ICES evaluation, we will provide you with a detailed plan on your next steps to pursue the CMA designation.
