International Student
If you reside in British Columbia and are completing or have completed a degree from a university or college outside of Canada you will need to have your transcripts evaluated for Canadian equivalency by the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES). Please call ICES at 1-866-434-9197 for more information. You may qualify for advanced standing in the CMA pathways for courses taken outside of Canada.
Note: If you are submitting your transcripts to our office or ICES, please also complete the CMA transcript evaluation form and submit it to the CMA office. Click here to download the form and contact details. This will allow us to contact you upon receiving your documentation.
If your university or college can issue official transcripts in English, we might also be able to accept these without an ICES report. Please contact our office for more details.
Upon receipt of your transcripts or ICES evaluation, we will provide you with a detailed plan on your next steps to pursue the CMA designation.
Please contact Peter Ferguson, Program Coordinator at peter@cmabc.com or 604-484-7062 / 1-800-663-9646 ext. 7062 for more information on international qualifications.
If you are a designated accountant from outside of Canada, you may qualify to become a CMA through one of our Mutual Recognition Agreements with other professional organizations. To learn more, please visit our Mutual Recognition Agreement page.
